Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Remaster

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Remaster is a 2025 remastered release of the 2008 open-world action RPG Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, developed by SparklingBit and published by THQ Nordic. Set on the continent of Ancaria, a fantasy world whose industry and magic both run on T-Energy drawn from a fallen comet shard, the game drops the player into a sprawling hand-built overworld of human towns, elven forests, orc highlands and desert trade routes. Six playable characters, from the winged Seraphim and the undead Shadow Warrior to the High Elf, Dryad, Temple Guardian and Inquisitor, each bring three class aspects of Combat Arts, a personal mount and their own equipment sets. Progression mixes rune-fed Combat Arts, a general skill list, socketed set items, blacksmithing and escalating difficulty tiers, and the campaign can be played alone or in online co-op. The remaster keeps the original's campaign and character roster while modernizing the presentation, interface and controller support for current hardware.

Key Systems

  • Six Playable Characters: the Seraphim, Shadow Warrior, High Elf, Dryad, Temple Guardian and Inquisitor each have their own three-branch aspect tree, starting attributes and signature equipment, so a new run is a different combat game rather than a reskin.
  • Combat Arts and Runes: every active ability is a Combat Art that levels up by consuming runes, with each class splitting its arts across three aspects. Stacking one art deep makes it stronger but slower to regenerate, which forces a trade-off between breadth and burst.
  • General Skill System: character building runs on skill points spent on weapon lore for each weapon family, armor lore, combat discipline, concentration, constitution, toughness, spell resistance, alchemy, blacksmithing, bargaining, riding and perception.
  • Open Ancaria: the campaign is played across a single continuous continent of distinct regions, from the human heartland of Artamark and the elven realm of Tyr Lysia to the orc lands of Nor Plat, the Bengaresh Desert and the swamps of Hissil'Ta, with side quests and optional bosses throughout.
  • Class Mounts and Travel: each class unlocks its own mount, and mounts fight alongside the rider, which changes both traversal speed and the shape of open-field combat.
  • Itemization and Set Items: randomized drops with rarity tiers sit alongside class-specific set items, socketed runes, blacksmith upgrades and bargaining-driven shop stock, driving the loot chase across the whole campaign.
  • Difficulty Tiers and Hardcore Mode: characters progress through escalating difficulty tiers, and the optional hardcore rule set makes death permanent, giving the remaster its long-tail challenge mode alongside online co-op.
