High on Life 2

High on Life 2 is a first-person comedy action-adventure shooter developed and published by Squanch Games, released in February 2026 as the sequel to the 2022 cult hit High on Life. Players return as a Gatlian bounty hunter in a universe where every gun is a living, foul-mouthed alien creature with its own personality, hunting across Earth and the alien worlds of the intergalactic bounty circuit. Combat pairs fast FPS gunplay with ecosystem traversal and a roster of bonded talking weapons, while the story continues the series' trademark wall-to-wall improvisational comedy. The game expands the original's planetary bounty structure with new worlds, enemy factions, bounty targets, and an even denser voice-led comedic script.

Key Systems

  • Talking Gun Arsenal - Every weapon in the game is a bonded alien creature with its own voice, personality and combat quirks, from the loyal pistol Kenny to foul-mouthed ballistic companions, each adding spontaneous dialogue and unique ranged behavior to gunfights.
  • Gatlian Bounty Hunting - The campaign is structured around intergalactic bounty contracts, with the player hunting crimelords, cartel magnates and alien cartel families across visited planets and collectible lore that fills out the universe.
  • Ecosystem Traversal & Exploration - Planets are built for movement and discovery, mixing shooter encounters with platforming, collectible Hunter Trinkets, hidden lore and hub-world exploration that rewards thorough searching.
  • Weapon Mods & Upgrade Loop - Talking weapons can be upgraded and boosted over the campaign, unlocking new fire modes and capabilities that let each gun pull double duty as the mission demands it.
  • Interactive Comedy & Voice Banter - Conversation, reaction and environmental gags are everywhere, with every mission written to deliver the series' signature rapid-fire, absurdist improvisation rather than linear shooting alone.
