Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is a 2026 role-playing game developed by Nihon Falcom: a full remake of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC (2006), the direct continuation of the first chapter of the Trails saga. It picks up immediately after the cliffhanger ending of the first chapter, with Estelle Bright setting out across the Kingdom of Liberl to find Joshua after he vanishes, and it widens the conflict from a provincial conspiracy into an open campaign waged by the Society of Ouroboros. The remake carries over the turn-based AT combat, the CP-driven Craft and S-Craft system and the Orbment and Quartz magic system of the first chapter's remake, while expanding the playable roster and the battle scale. Set on the Zemuria continent, it is the second volume of the Liberl arc and the middle chapter of the Trails in the Sky trilogy.

Key Systems

  • Tactical Turn-Based Combat - Battles run on the AT (Action Time) turn-order bar, which queues character and enemy turns by speed, and turn bonuses that award critical, Craft, or item advantages appear on that timeline, so turn manipulation and positioning decide fights.
  • Crafts and S-Crafts - Every party member has a personal Craft list paid for with CP (Craft Points). Physical Crafts deal damage or apply effects, while the ultimate S-Craft spends 100 or more CP on a signature attack.
  • S-Breaks - A character with 100 or more CP can interrupt the turn order with an instant S-Craft, which is the main tool for racing an enemy's own turn or finishing a staggered boss.
  • Orbment and Quartz - Characters equip an Orbment whose slots take Quartz. Each Quartz carries an elemental value, and slotting the right combination unlocks Orbal Arts and passive bonuses, making Orbment builds the core of character customization.
  • Orbal Arts (Magic) - Seven elements (Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Time, Space, and Mirage) supply offensive, healing, and support spells cast with EP; Arts are learned through Quartz combinations rather than through leveling.
  • Expanded Party Roster - The second chapter fields a much larger cast than the first, rotating Bracers, soldiers, engineers, and members of the royal court through the party, and each playable character is locked to a unique weapon class.
  • Bracer Guild Work - Estelle continues taking Guild jobs across Liberl while chasing the main story, with optional requests and Bracer Points that build toward a higher Bracer rank.
  • Society of Ouroboros Campaign - The antagonists operate openly instead of from the shadows, so the story moves through Liberl province by province as the Society's Enforcers and their machines test the kingdom's defences.
