Splatoon Raiders

Splatoon Raiders is a 2026 action game developed by Nintendo EPD and published by Nintendo, the first spin-off in the Splatoon series, released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23, 2026. Players take the role of the Mechanic, a helicopter pilot hired by the Deep Cut trio of Shiver, Frye, and Big Man to raid the Spirhalite Islands for treasure, relics, and enough cash to get the band back home. Raids are launched from a customizable tank that carries the player's main weapon, gadgets, and a Bot Buddy companion whose Showstopper ability charges as Power Eggs are collected. Dungeons scale through Raid Levels and optional Spicy and Super Spicy modifiers, and the whole campaign can be played solo or in four-player co-op over online play and local wireless, with a Call for Help system that pulls other players into a raid already in progress. The game swaps the series' Turf War competition for a PvE, loot-driven action role-playing loop built around weapon classes, gadget parts, tank upgrades, and endgame Super Spicy runs.

Key Systems

  • Tank-Based Raiding: Every raid starts from a customizable tank that carries the Mechanic's main weapon, equipped gadgets, and the Bot Buddy, and tank class and tank upgrades define how much punishment a loadout can absorb in a run.
  • Weapon Classes: All eleven classic Splatoon weapon families return as the core of the loot loop (Shooters, Rollers, Chargers, Sloshers, Splatlings, Dualies, Brellas, Blasters, Brushes, Stringers, and Splatanas), and weapons are found as makeshift builds assembled from plastic bottles, broken toys, and scrap.
  • Gadgets: Tanks carry a gadget slot holding support tools such as the Inkspector, Splatellites, Booyarang, and Jump Bomb, and each gadget is upgraded with its own Gadget Parts.
  • Bot Buddy Showstoppers: The Bot Buddy companion fills a Showstopper gauge from defeated enemies and Power Eggs, then unleashes a character-specific ultimate such as Shiver's shark-based attack, with Bond Levels unlocking upgrades to each Showstopper.
  • Raid Levels and Spicy Modifiers: Dungeons carry a Raid Level and an optional Spicy or Super Spicy tier that raises enemy difficulty and rewards, driving the endgame progression loop.
  • Four-Player Co-op with Call for Help: Raids support up to four players online or over local wireless, and a solo player can use Call for Help to bring other players into a run already in progress.
