The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is a free-to-play open-world action RPG developed by Netmarble F&C and published by Netmarble, built in Unreal Engine 5 and set in the Britannia of Nakaba Suzuki's manga and anime. Players control Prince Tristan of Liones, son of Meliodas and Elizabeth, who finds a mysterious pendant called the Book of Stars and sets out to purge the corruption spreading across the land. Combat is real-time and built around three-character parties, eight damage elements, and a weapon-swap system where each hero equips up to three of the game's twelve weapon types, each with its own moveset. The world is explored on foot, by mount, and through fast-travel viewpoints, with regional quest chains, dungeons, field bosses, and five-player raids layered on top. Heroes are collected through a gacha summoning system and developed through potentials, gear, and costumes.

Key Systems

  • Weapon Swap Combat: every hero can equip three of the twelve weapon types, and swapping mid-combo changes the moveset, skills, and elemental coverage rather than just the damage numbers.
  • Eight Damage Elements: Fire, Cold, Earth, Lightning, Wind, Physical, Holy, and Darkness drive weakness and resistance math across characters, enemies, and puzzle gimmicks.
  • Tag Team Parties: a party fields several heroes who can be tagged in during combat, letting players chain normal attacks, special attacks, and ultimate skills between characters.
  • Hero Summoning: new heroes arrive through a gacha summoning pool with rotating pick-up banners, and duplicate draws feed ascension and potential progression.
  • Potentials and Progression: each hero develops along a potential board that unlocks stat nodes, skill upgrades, and passive effects, alongside crafted and bound gear.
  • Open-World Exploration: Britannia is explored on foot and by mount, with viewpoints, star fragment collectibles, hidden quests, and region quest chains per area.
  • Raids and Boss Challenges: instanced content spans dungeons, field boss challenges, knighthood bosses, and multi-boss raids such as Taranis's Sanctuary, which can be run at escalating difficulties.
  • Co-op Multiplayer: parties of up to five players can tackle raids and boss content together, with solo play supported for the whole story campaign.
