Avowed

Avowed is an action role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios. Set in the world of Eora — the same universe as Pillars of Eternity — the game takes place in the Living Lands, a remote and untamed frontier island. Players assume the role of an envoy from the Aedyr Empire, tasked with investigating a mysterious plague known as the Dream Scourge. The game features a flexible classless skill system with four ability trees (Fighter, Ranger, Wizard, Godlike), a companion system, real-time combat with an ability pause wheel, extensive crafting and enchanting, and a dual-loadout weapon system. Dialogue choices and faction allegiance shape both the story and companion relationships. Unlike fully open-world games, Avowed features several large explorable zones.
