| Name | Type | Description | Tree | Cost | Prerequisite |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Samurai Skill Tree | Skill Tree | The general melee tree. It carries the passives every weapon build wants - Ki recovery, Ki Pulse improvements, grapple damage and health - plus generic active skills, so it is usually the first tree players finish. | Global | Skill Points earned by dealing damage with melee weapons | Unlocked from the start |
| Ninja Skill Tree | Skill Tree | The ninjutsu side of the game: shuriken, kunai, bombs, caltrops and the passives that raise their damage and carrying capacity. | Global | Skill Points earned by using ninjutsu and ranged weapons | Unlocked from the start |
| Onmyo Magic Skill Tree | Skill Tree | Talismans and elemental magic: fire, water, wind, lightning and earth shots, weapon-element buffs, defence and healing talismans, and the capacity passives that decide how many talismans Hide can carry into a mission. | Global | Skill Points earned by casting onmyo magic | Unlocked from the start |
| Shiftling Skill Tree | Skill Tree | The yokai half of the build. It upgrades Yokai Shift duration and damage, Burst Counter behaviour, Anima gain and Soul Core effectiveness, and it is the tree that turns a half-yokai character into an actual second combat mode. | Global (yokai) | Skill Points earned by fighting in yokai form and using Soul Cores | Unlocked once Yokai Shift becomes available |
| Weapon Skill Trees | Skill Tree | Every melee family has its own tree holding that family's active skills, stance-specific attacks and combo extensions. | Per weapon family | Weapon proficiency points earned by using that family | Raise proficiency with the weapon to unlock deeper tiers |
| Mystic Arts | Special Skill | Each weapon family unlocks a pair of Mystic Arts near the top of its tree, and only one can be equipped at a time. | Per weapon family | Skill points in the weapon tree | High proficiency with that weapon family |
| Active Skills and Skill Customisation | Special Skill | Active skills are the named attacks slotted onto button combinations inside a stance. | Per weapon family | Skill points in the weapon tree | Weapon proficiency tier |
| Ninjutsu Tools | Special Skill | The consumable combat tools of the ninja line - shuriken, kunai, bombs and traps - prepared before a mission and carried in limited quantities. | Ninja | Ninja skill points plus carrying capacity | Ninja tree investment |
| Onmyo Talismans | Special Skill | Prepared magic talismans: elemental shots, weapon enchantments, defence buffs, healing and utility. | Onmyo Magic | Onmyo skill points plus carrying capacity | Onmyo tree investment |
| Soul Core Abilities | Special Skill | Every yokai Soul Core grants that monster's signature attack as a castable ability. | Shiftling | Anima per cast | A Soul Core from the matching yokai plus attunement capacity |
