Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is a single-player survivor-like spin-off of the co-op mining shooter Deep Rock Galactic, developed by Funday Games and published by Ghost Ship Publishing. A lone dwarf drops onto the glyphid-infested moon of Hoxxes IV as one of the four Deep Rock Galactic classes and fights escalating swarms with auto-firing weapons and gadgets while carving ore out of the rock. Runs are short, loot-driven and upgrade-heavy: every level offers a choice of weapon, gadget or stat cards, and every death feeds gold and minerals into permanent class progression. It entered early access on 14 February 2024 and reached its full 1.0 release on 17 September 2025 on Windows and Xbox Series X|S.

Key Systems

  • Auto-Combat Survivor Loop: equipped weapons fire on their own at nearby threats, so the run is about positioning, kiting and upgrade choices rather than manual aiming.
  • Mining and Ore Collection: mineral veins and ore nodes are carved out of the terrain during a drop, and everything collected feeds the between-run economy.
  • Level-Up Upgrade Cards: each level presents a choice of cards that add a new weapon or gadget or improve stats such as damage, fire rate, area and critical hit chance.
  • Class Loadouts: each of the four dwarf classes has its own weapon and gadget pool, with distinct movement tools and damage profiles.
  • Escalating Waves and Boss Fights: enemy pressure ramps across the run, with elites and bosses such as Dreadnoughts and Bulk Detonators anchoring the hardest encounters.
  • Permanent Progression: gold and minerals persist between runs and are spent on permanent upgrades and weapon improvements for each class.
  • Biome Variety: drops take place across Hoxxes IV's distinct biomes, each with its own hazards, enemy mix and loot weighting.
