Assassin's Creed Shadows is a 2025 action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Quebec and published by Ubisoft. Set in feudal Japan in the year 1579, the game follows two playable protagonists: Naoe, a shinobi from Iga sworn to the Hidden Ones, and Yasuke, a larger-than-life samurai based on the historical figure who served Oda Nobunaga. It pairs classic Assassin's Creed open-world traversal and stealth with the new dual-protagonist Light and Shadow systems, letting players swap between Naoe's agile parkour, grappling-hook traversal, and assassination toolkit and Yasuke's brute-force samurai combat. Built on the Anvil engine, it models an accurate slice of 16th-century central Japan spanning the provinces of Iga, Omi, and on toward the castle towns of the era, and was released on March 20, 2025 for Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

• Samurai Combat: Yasuke fights with the heavy, momentum-based samurai kit, trading stealth for parries, posture, and overwhelming strikes, with a unique armor system built around his historical station.
