Silent Hill f

Silent Hill f is a 2025 survival horror game developed by NeoBards Entertainment and published by Konami Digital Entertainment as a standalone entry in the Silent Hill franchise. Set in 1960s Japan, it follows high school student Hinako Shimizu as the rural town of Ebisugaoka is consumed by a crimson ritual horror that distorts both the town and the people within it. The story, written by Ryukishi07, blends the series' signature fog-drenched dread with Japanese folklore and the social pressures of a 1960s farming community, exploring marriage, family duty, and identity. Gameplay pivots on a deep Sanity system and melee-heavy combat with weapons that degrade, while save points are built around stone Hokora shrine altars and the game branches into multiple endings.

Key Systems

  • Sanity System - Fear and accumulating dread drain Hinako's sanity, affecting her composure, how the world presents around her, and how she responds to threats; managing composure is central to surviving Ebisugaoka.
  • Melee-Focused Combat - Silent Hill f is built around melee weapons rather than firearms, with Hinako swinging, dodging, and budgeting stamina against the town's horrors in deliberate, grounded encounters.
  • Weapon Degradation - Weapons wear down with use, and their properties change as durability drops, forcing the player to rotate instruments and weigh which tool fits each encounter.
  • Hokora Shrine Save Points - Progress is saved and offerings are made at stone Hokora shrine altars placed around Ebisugaoka, anchoring the exploration and upgrade loop.
  • The Dark Shrine and the Otherworld - Ritual-themed environments, including the Dark Shrine, reinterpret the town's 1960s Japanese occult horror in place of the franchise's classic fog-to-otherworld transition.
  • Multiple Endings - The narrative branches into five endings influenced by the player's choices and the state of Hinako's journey.
