Pokémon Pokopia

Pokémon Pokopia is a social simulation and world-building game co-developed by Game Freak and Koei Tecmo's Omega Force and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5, 2026. In a post-apocalyptic world where humans have vanished, the player controls a Ditto that has transformed to look like a human and sets out to rebuild an abandoned, overgrown land into a cozy community. Gameplay revolves around gathering materials, learning transformation skills from befriended Pokémon, crafting and placing furniture and buildings, and developing themed habitats and biomes that draw in a growing cast of Pokémon villagers. The game blends the series' creature-collecting charm with animal-crossing-style life simulation, gathering, decorating, and a light structure-rebuilding loop across multiple unlockable regions.

Key Systems

  • Ditto Transformation Skills: As a human-disguised Ditto, you learn abilities like Water Gun, Leafage, Cut, Rock Smash, Rototiller, and Surf from befriended Pokémon, and use them to gather, clear the land, and shape the environment.
  • Gathering and Crafting: Materials collected across habitats feed a DIY recipe system for furniture, buildings, tools, and decor, letting you theme and furnish your homestead and the wider community.
  • World Rebuilding: The core loop is restoring an abandoned post-human world, developing each region and populating it with Pokémon villagers as you clear overgrowth and erect structures.
  • Habitat and Biome Development: Regions like Palette Town, Bubbly Basin, Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, and the Sparkling Skylands each host unique biomes, habitats, and legendary encounters to unlock and populate.
  • Befriending Pokémon: Meet and recruit a diverse cast of Pokémon who become companions and villagers, with unique Pokopian forms such as DJ Rotom, Chef Dente, and Professor Tangrowth serving as named residents.
  • Cozy Community Sandbox: The game threads creature collection into a relaxed, customizable life-sim sandbox centered on crafting, decorating, and restoring a lovable town without traditional combat.
