Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave

Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is the eighteenth installment in the Fire Emblem series, co-developed by Intelligent Systems and Nintendo and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch 2. Directed by Toshiyuki Kusakihara, with staff who worked on Fire Emblem: Three Houses, the game is set on the continent of Dagda, a world connected to the Fódlan of Three Houses but located southwest of it. Inspired by the ancient Mediterranean, particularly Greek and Roman civilization, Dagda is fractured between four Flame Lords vying for the imperial throne. Players guide one of four lords (Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, or Leda) through the Heroic Games and a calendar-driven campaign, wielding a new Blaze Arts power system and forging alliances across House Lamine, the Ribeira Winds, Megaira's Beacon, and the Rose Tempest to unite Dagda before a greater mythic threat emerges.

Key Systems

  • Four Flame Lords & Routes: Choose from Cai Castor, Dietrich Gregor Lamine, Theodora Segio Savangren, or Leda, each leading a distinct faction with its own Part I story, playable across one shared save file that lets players revisit other routes without restarting.
  • Single Save File System: All four lord campaigns are tracked in one save, allowing characters, supports, and resources to be combined across routes for a centralized army.
  • Blaze Arts: Each of the four main heroes wields a unique otherworldly flame power cast at the cost of their own health points, from bursts of Fire to the art of the beast, adding a risk-reward layer to skirmishes.
  • Calendar System: Outside battle the game progresses through a calendar between engagements, giving limited time to explore the Dagsion hub, train units, forge bonds, and manage the army.
  • Dagsion Hub: The city of Dagsion is the central base connected to the world map, hosting shops, facilities, and the Heroic Games that shape recruitment and story progression.
  • Crests Reimagined: The Radiant dragon-blooded Crest system returns in a new context, tied to the ancient goddesses and the mythic lineage of Dagda.
  • Expanded Weapon & Magic Families: Combat uses five weapon types (Sword, Lance, Axe, Bow, Gauntlet) plus two magic types, with the Weapon Triangle governing melee matchups.
  • Heroic Games: A recurring tournament mechanic that raises renown, awards renown points for class and skill licensing, and is central to uniting Dagda's factions.
