Dark Deity 2 is a tactical RPG developed by Sword & Axe LLC and published by indie.io, released on March 24, 2025 for Windows and macOS, and later on Nintendo Switch (September 4, 2025) and PlayStation 5 / Xbox Series X/S (November 7, 2025). A sequel to the 2021 game Dark Deity, it is set 25 years after the previous game and follows the next generation of heroes as they defend the land of Verroa from an invasion by the Holy Asverellian Empire. Players command the Order of Eternals, fielding the children of Dark Deity protagonist Irving and his allies across a Fire Emblem-inspired tactical grid, with class-based skills, MP-based abilities, rune-modified weapons, crafted accessory rings, bond conversations, and an extensive campaign modifier suite including a built-in randomizer. Key Systems

  • Order of Eternals: Command the protagonist trio Gwyn, Riordan, and Arthur Sildairan, the children of Dark Deity protagonist Irving, leading the Order of Eternals against the Asverellian invasion of Verroa.
  • Five Class Roles: Units are shaped by accessible classes organized around five roles - Vanguards (frontline), Hunters (ranged/initiative), Wizards (magic), Adepts (hybrid techniques), and Shamans (support/spirit) - each modifying weapons, ranges, stat growths and skills.
  • MP-Based Skills: Characters can use special offensive and utility skills in combat that cost MP, which starts at 100 and regenerates 20 MP per turn; skills come from current and previously mastered classes.
  • Rune Weapons & Crafted Rings: Equipment is customizable, with weapons modified by runes for a variety of boosts, and unique accessory rings crafted to grant specialized bonuses to the equipped character.
  • Grid-Based Tactics: Maneuver units on a turn-based grid alternating player and enemy phases, with terrain granting defensive bonuses like evasion or defense boosts.
  • Side Objectives & Time Limits: Maps feature optional side objectives rewarding bonus items or money, while a turn limit on each map encourages bold advance and prevents MP-stalling strategies.
  • Bonds & Support Conversations: Characters deployed together who fight nearby gain bond ranks, unlocking support conversations and minor item rewards.
  • Wounds & Defeat: A character defeated in battle is removed from the map and receives a random debuff on the next map to represent their wound; if Gwyn is defeated the map is lost.
  • Campaign Modifiers & Randomizer: A built-in comprehensive randomizer and campaign customization suite lets players randomize character recruitment, fixed stat growths, disable turn limits, and adjust enemy difficulty from launch.
  • Split-Path Missions: Several missions require choosing which side to aid, adjusting the alliances the Order of Eternals gains as the story proceeds.
