Crimson Moon

Crimson Moon is a gothic high-renaissance action RPG from developer and publisher ProbablyMonsters (Yatwiz team), released September 1, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You play as a Nephilim, a half-human, half-angel hybrid forged to defend humanity with supernatural powers, fighting to reclaim the fallen holy city of Gildenarch from demons, undead, vampires, and Hellgrowth abominations. Its combat blends soulslike timing with roguelike run structure, and it uses a deliberately classless build system in which gear, Weapon Arts, Boons, and Angels define your playstyle rather than a locked archetype. The game can be played solo or with a friend in two-player online co-op across a city divided into districts, each guarded by brutal district bosses.

Key Systems

  • Classless Build System - There are no character classes. Your Nephilim is defined entirely by equipment, Weapon Arts, Boons, and Angels, letting you combine a warrior, mage, or ranger playstyle freely based on the gear you assemble.
  • Weapon Arts - Weapons and shields each carry special combat abilities called Weapon Arts that provide unique active and passive bonuses, including boosts to defenses and damage of all types.
  • Boons - A deep system of 91 Boons that act as character upgrades and passives, letting you tune your build across hunts and runs rather than being locked into one specialization.
  • Angel Gauge - Attacking and defeating enemies fills an Angel gauge that, when triggered, transforms your character into a powerful, near-immortal state with greatly enhanced supernatural abilities.
  • Angels - Transformative divine entities you align with, which shape the nature and flavor of your supernatural powers as you cleanse the city.
  • Repeated Hunts - The city is wracked by a structure of repeated nocturnal hunts, a roguelike-flow loop in which you return to the hub, gear up, and push back into demon-infested districts.
  • Co-op Exorcism - The full campaign is playable solo or with one partner in two-player online co-op against demons, undead, vampires, and Hellgrowth abominations.
