Big Walk

Big Walk is a cooperative online walker-talker developed by the Melbourne studio House House, creators of Untitled Goose Game. Played by a small group of friends who talk and walk together, it is set in an expansive hand-painted wilderness inspired by the Australian outback. There is no combat or fail state; the experience is built around slow shared exploration, calling out to one another across the landscape, and reaching distant landmarks together. The game grew out of the team playing Raft, Valheim, and Roblox with friends during lockdown, and it released in 2026 for Windows, macOS, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Key Systems

  • Walker-Talker Co-op: Big Walk is designed around a small group of friends walking and talking together at their own pace, with voice communication as the core connective thread of the experience.
  • Walking as the Core Loop: There is no combat or fail state. Progress is made by simply walking across a vast landscape with your companions, enjoying the journey and each other's company.
  • Shared Exploration: Players spread out, explore together, and call out points of interest to one another, turning the open wilderness into a shared social space.
  • Calling Out & Communication: Players can signal and call to each other across long distances, using voice and in-world callouts to coordinate who goes where.
  • Distant Landmarks as Goals: Far-off landmarks and features of the landscape serve as natural exploration goals that draw the group forward across the world.
  • Light Environmental Interaction: The world supports gentle platforming, object interaction, and simple cooperative puzzles woven into the walking rather than combat set pieces.
  • Hand-Painted Outback Setting: The game presents a lush, stylized wilderness evoking the Australian outback, with changing biomes and memorable scenery from plains to ridgelines.
