Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree is a roguelite action-adventure game developed by Brownies Inc. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, released on September 19, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Players take the role of Towa, the priestess of Shinju Village and a descendant of the immortal gods with the power to reverse time, as she leads her band of Guardians against the demon Magatsu and the forces spreading his influence across distant lands. Each descent sends a pair of Guardians into a corrupted area to fight their way to the demon at its heart and cleanse the region, and between runs Towa oversees the rebuilding and development of the village. Growth comes from Sword Forging, where Tama Steel gathered in dungeons is hammered into new blades, from Sword Blessings that upgrade those blades across the Blade, Spirit and Blade Patterns families, and from the Graces the sacred tree grants the Guardians. Hitoshi Sakimoto composed the soundtrack.

• Guardian Pairs - every descent is fought as a two-character party: players pair a main Guardian with a partner from the available roster, and each character brings two different weapons into the pair, so a run plays as a blend of two move sets.
• Sword Forging with Tama Steel - the game's core upgrade loop. Tama Steel recovered from dungeons is broken into fragments, the fragments are stacked tightly, reheated and rehammered into a single slab before the blade is finished, and the resulting sword raises the Guardian's striking power.
• Sword Blessings - forged swords are improved with blessings in three families: Blade for attack-related attributes, Spirit for Grace-related attributes, and Blade Patterns for dash, health and damage traits. Blessings are what turns a fresh forge into a run-defining weapon.
• Graces - the sacred tree grants the Guardians Graces that guide them, and Grace-focused builds are what the Spirit blessing family scales. Grace of the Ritual is one of the named Graces in the game.
• Relationships with the Guardians - the official pitch is to lead the guardians in forging strong relationships as well as powerful swords: developing bonds with the cast between runs is a progression pillar alongside gear.
• Magatsu's Corruption and Area Cleansing - Magatsu's evil influence spreads over the far-off lands the Guardians travel to. A run is a descent into a corrupted area that ends with a demon encounter, and cleansing the area is how the campaign advances.
• Time Reversal - Towa, a descendant of the immortal gods, can reverse time, the story device that frames the roguelite structure of repeated descents and the village's survival.
