Suikoden: Star Leap (幻想水滸伝 STAR LEAP / Genso Suikoden: Star Leap) is the sixteenth installment in Konami's critically acclaimed role-playing game franchise, co-developed with MYTHRIL. Officially launched in Japan on August 7, 2026, for iOS, Android, and Windows PC via Steam, Star Leap represents the first original mainline Suikoden RPG in over a decade and the first original entry set in the franchise's canon universe since Suikoden V. Set in Solar Year 453 (SY 453) — four years prior to the outbreak of the Gate Rune War in the original Suikoden — the narrative begins when a sudden, devastating invasion incinerates the peaceful Taiju lakeside village east of the Scarlet Moon Empire. The protagonist, Chao, son of respected village elder Hou, awakens the legendary True Rune of Change and embarks on a grand quest alongside his loyal companions Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur to assemble the 108 Stars of Destiny, reconstruct their ancestral lakeside citadel, command massive military war battles, and unravel the ancient secrets of the Sindar civilization.
