Ys X: Nordics

Ys X: Nordics is a 2023 action RPG developed by Nihon Falcom and published internationally by NIS America. The 10th numbered installment in the Ys series, it is set shortly after Ys II, following a 17-year-old Adol Christin in the Obelia Gulf region. The game introduces the Cross Action combat system, allowing players to switch between Solo Mode (controlling one character) and Combination Mode (controlling both Adol and Karja simultaneously). The story follows Adol and Karja Balta, a warrior from the Norman people, who are mysteriously bound together by supernatural Mana Cuffs. Together they explore the island-dotted Obelia Gulf, sail the seas aboard the Sandras, and uncover the secrets of the ancient Mana civilization. An expanded version, Ys X: Proud Nordics, was released in 2025 in Japan and 2026 internationally, adding new story chapters, playable characters, and endgame content.
