Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is the twenty-sixth main entry in Gust's long-running Atelier series and the launch title of the new Memories saga. Developed by Gust and published by Koei Tecmo, it is the first fully open-world Atelier, set during an expedition from the Eustella Republic into the ruins of the ancient Aladissian Empire, where the once-celebrated art of alchemy became taboo after an unexplained cataclysm. Players follow the young alchemist Yumia Liessfeldt as she defies that stigma to purify manabound zones, synthesize gear and consumables, and uncover why the empire fell, aided by her autonomous companion Flammi and five companions from the research team. Combat is real-time with two attack ranges, party switching across a six-member team, and alchemy-shaped weapons that double as tools, while exploration, base building, camping, and a deep recipe-driven synthesis loop form the core loop.

Key Systems

  • Alchemy Synthesis — Gather field materials and manipulate their embedded mana to craft new items from recipes; item power depends on the materials selected.
  • Simple Synthesis — Craft useful consumables and tools on the spot anywhere on the field without returning to a workbench.
  • Real-Time Combat with Two Ranges — Battles happen in real time with close-range and long-range attack forms, and synthesized items can transform into sword, spear, or hammer weapon shapes that are reused across fights.
  • Six-Member Party Switching — Three frontline and three rear-line party members can be interchanged freely mid-battle, enabling Friend Action combination attacks.
  • Maximized Mana Surge — Each character's unique ultimate special move that unleashes a powerful mana-fueled attack.
  • World Purification — Dangerous manabound zones across the continent are cleansed by activating Mana Circulators, gradually uncovering the open-world map.
  • Base Building — Construct and furnish bases across the field; raising comfort level grants development bonuses and stat boosts for Yumia and her allies.
  • Camping & Cooking — Set up camps to rest and cook dishes that bestow exploration and combat benefits, with unique companion events just for camping.
  • Quest System — Character-exclusive quests, normal request quests, location quests from landmarks and Shrines of Prayer, and recurring random quests.
